About the Author
Professor Fernando Schmitt is currently the director of the department of Medicine and Pathology at the Laboratoire National de Sante in Luxembourg. After finishing Medical School in Brazil in 1983, he was Assistant Professor of Anatomic Pathology at the Medical Faculty of Santa Maria and Associate Professor of Anatomic Pathology at the University of Sao Paulo. In 2004, he started working at the Medical Faculty at the University of Porto where he was Associate Professor of Pathology and Director of Molecular Pathology Unit at IPATIMUP. From 2013-2014, Professor Schmitt was full professor of pathology at the University of Toronto.
