This book presents a selection of the latest developments in nanotechnology and nanomaterials. It features articles written by lecturers and young scientists from Europe, in particular from Ukraine, who participated in the Second International Summer School “Nanotechnology: From Fundamental Research to Innovations,” held in Bukovel, Ukraine from August 25 to September 1, 2013 within the framework of the FP7 project Nanotwinning. This International Summer School provided early-career scientists the opportunity to participate in a series of lectures on the emerging fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The goal of the Second International Summer School was to familiarize young scientists with actual research and problems of application in this area and to promote the future implementation of nanotechnology in innovative development to meet public needs.
